Callas House is a historic neo-renaissance palace in the heart of Budapest, originally commissioned by Sigismund Komperz, a wealthy merchant and banker. The building was designed by Vilmos Freund in 1881, a year after the opening of the neighbouring Hungarian State Opera. 
The building served several functions throughout its history, including as a café and bank office, before being renovated in Art Deco style by designer David Collins in the early 21st century. Today, the Callas House and the Callas Café & Restaurant are housed in it, preserving the cultural and gastronomic significance of the palace.
