Over the decades it has served many functions - as a café, bank and then a shop - until 2006, when the Callas Café & Restaurant brought back the original café role, reviving it in Art Deco style.

In 2016, the owners opened a new chapter in the palace's history, with 25 boutique rooms on the upper floors designed by the world-renowned David Collins Studio, who has worked on the homes of Gordon Ramsay and Madonna, among others.
